Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas Introduces New Model in 9A Series Compact Excavator Line

Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas Introduces New Model in 9A Series Compact Excavator Line

March 13, 2017 | Product News

LAS VEGAS (March 7, 2017) – Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas today introduced a seventh model in its 9A series of Tier 4 Final-compliant compact excavators. The new R30Z-9AK is a three-ton-class model that features a zero-tail swing design for optimum maneuverability in confined work spaces. The company announced and is exhibiting the new model at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017 international construction equipment exposition.

The 9A series excavators range from 1.7 to 8.2 metric tons, and include three zero-tail swing models, the R17Z-9A, R25Z-9A and R35Z-9A; a standard counterweight model, the R55-9A; and two compact-radius models, the R60CR-9A and R80CR-9A.

“The new Hyundai R30Z-9AK model fills an important place in our compact excavator product line,” said Michael Fuller, product specialist, Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas. “We see growing demand for machines in the three- and three-and-a-half-ton class. Hyundai now has two strong entries in that market – the R30Z-9AK and the R35Z-9A.”

The Hyundai R30Z-9AK excavator is powered by a Kubota engine delivering 23.2 hp (17.3 kW). It’s maximum digging depth is 8 ft 2 in (2 490 mm), and its maximum digging reach is 15 ft 3 in (4 648) mm. Bucket breakout force is 4,520 lbf (20.1 kN). Configured with a canopy, the R30Z-9AK has an operating weight of 6,380 lb (2 894 kg). When specified with an optional cab, the machine’s operating weight is 6,625 lb (3 005 kg). Standard bucket capacity is .10 yd3 (.076 m3).

Performance

“Like all Hyundai construction equipment, the Hyundai 9A series compact excavators address our customers’ needs for performance, convenience, serviceability, and, of course, safety,” Fuller said. “The new R30Z-9AK and other 9A series compact excavators are loaded with standard features that provide exceptional value. Standard features such as thumb brackets, large dozer blades, hydraulic quick-couplers for attachments, and hydraulics-ready auxiliary piping provide the versatility you need to take on a variety of jobs.”

Innovative, precision-designed hydraulic system technologies make the 9A series compact excavators fast, smooth and easy to control. Each model includes boom swing capability, enabling the operator to offset the boom 75 degrees to the left and 50 degrees to the right, which allows for close work alongside foundations and other structures, especially in congested areas.

Convenient, safe operating environment

The spacious, ergonomically designed cab reduces noise and increases comfort and visibility. A tilting left-side console makes it easier for the operator to enter and exit the cab, and the left and right control levers are located for convenient access. The optional lever-pattern-change valve, positioned for easy access, allows joystick control to be changed from SAE to ISO pattern, depending on operator preference. Button selections are provided for auto idle mode, max power mode and travel speed.

An adjustable suspension seat and plenty of space help reduce operator stress and fatigue. The cabs on the Hyundai 9A series machines are all TOPS, ROPS and FOPS certified. Other safety features include optional boom and arm cylinder locks, and an optional overload alarm.

Reliability and serviceability

“Hyundai 9A series compact excavators help users maximize profitability through improved efficiencies, enhanced service features and longer life components,” Fuller said.

Enhanced reliability features on the 9A series compact excavators include bushings designed for long-life lube intervals, wear-resistant and noise-reducing polymer shims, and integrated preheating systems which extend service intervals and reduce machine downtime. Serviceability enhancements include wide-opening engine hoods, centralized grease fittings and easy-change plastic air cleaners.

Industry leading warranties

The Hyundai R30Z-9AK is protected by Hyundai’s industry-leading three-year, 3,000-hour full-machine standard warranty and five-year, 10,000-hour structural warranty. An optional program, Hyundai Extend, offers a customized extended warranty with the industry’s longest-term coverage.
