Hyundai Excavator Wins Top New Product of 2022 Award From Equipment Today

Hyundai Excavator Wins Top New Product of 2022 Award From Equipment Today

October 7, 2022 |

The Hyundai HX160A L crawler excavator was voted a Top 50 New Product of 2022 Winner by Equipment Today and ForConstructionPros.com‘s annual New Equipment and Products Contest. In this industry exclusive awards program, construction equipment owners and end-users decide on winners that represent the leading edge of innovation, quality, efficiency and productivity in the construction equipment field today.

The HX160A L, as part of our A-Series, is equipped with a Stage-V compliant Cummins-B4.5 diesel engine which produces 152 net horsepower. The all new emissions system utilizes a DPF (diesel particulate filter) that incorporates passive regeneration, which deleted the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation). This improved power by 13% and peak torque by 27% over the previous model. The reduction in complexity also improves reliability and provides up to 11% fuel savings. All Hyundai excavators are known for fast cycle speeds, impressive hydraulic power and precision control. At Hyundai, reliable productivity is more than just a promise. The robust upper and lower frame structure can endure external shock and heavy workloads for many thousands of hours.

The newly integrated IPC (Intelligent Power Control) mode and improved RCV levers enable finer and more precise control and reduce operator fatigue.  A-Series excavators are now equipped with lift mode to provide precise control when needed by simultaneously controlling power/speed and maintaining it throughout the lift cycle. The all new auto safety lock prevents unintended hydraulic operation which significantly improves safety for both operator and those standing/working around the machine.

Hyundai’s optional AAVM (All Around View Monitoring) system provides a 360° aerial view around the machine, which creates a greater safety factor on the jobsite. AAVM can also be coupled with IMOD (Intelligent Moving Objects Detection). IMOD will alert the operator to the presence of anything within a 16.5 ft. range of operation with an audible alarm and color changes via the 8’’ monitor.
